Discovery Cruise Line has expanded its Club Discovery kids’ club with larger space on board and learning games and toys targeting traveling children.
On Discovery, kids under six years old sail and stay free at a variety of resorts on Grand Bahama Island, the ship’s destination. Kids between the ages of six and 11 pay only $49 for the roundtrip cruise and stay free at the resorts. Participating resorts on Grand Bahama include Westin, Sheraton, Wyndham, Best Western and Crowne Plaza. Additionally, new kids’ mascots on board include a blue whale, a red octopus, a yellow starfish and a pink conch.
Hanns J. Hahn, Discovery’s general manager, said in a statement, “The focus of the new club is to provide a learning experience for kids sailing on Discovery, with an emphasis on marine life and marine experiences. Games have been selected that will encourage the kids to want to acquire more knowledge about a variety of marine life, not only while on board, but later as well.”
