Direct to customer sales lead retail revenue for the brands under the Anthropologie umbrella during November and December.
Direct sales rose 28% during the period, with the company’s three brands – Anthropologie, Free People and Urban Outfitters – all seeing double-digit growth.
Retail sales were up 16% during the same period, while wholesale segment sales rose 9%. While the company did not break out channel sales, total retail revenue was $452 million, or 16% higher than during the same period last year.
For the 11-month period ended Dec. 31, total sales increased 5% to $1.8 billion with comparable retail segment sales up 1% and comparable store sales down 3%. Direct-to-consumer sales rose 18% during the period and wholesale segment net sales decreased 4%.
