Once again, Coca-Cola has put its own spin on a major cultural moment.
This time, it joined in this week’s historic summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un using the #TastethefeelingofHope and a digital billboard.
The billboard displayed Coke’s iconic “swirl” with each of the two leaders—designed in white silhouettes—walking toward each other trailing the swirl. When the two met in the middle and the swirl was joined, the two men shook hands. The billboard could be seen in Singapore’s Changi Airport on Tuesday, the day of the summit, Ad Age reported.
Coke also produced a new can design written half in English and half in Korean with the message “peace, hope and understanding.” A supporting YouTube video shows people being interviewed the day before the summit about their opinions of the can and its message.
