Chrysler to Give Car to Parents of May 6 Newborn

Chrysler is running a contest that gives a new car to the parents of a child born at exactly 2:03:04 on May 6.

The sequential time and date were picked because they won’t occur for another hundred years, Chrysler said.

The vehicle prize is the family-friendly 2007 Chrysler Sebring.

“We wanted to celebrate this moment in time and give the ultimate baby gift that would help ease the transition of adding a new member to the family,” said David Rooney, director, Chrysler marketing and global communications, in a statement.

The details can be found at ChryslerSebringBundleofJoy.com. To enter, parents mail in their name and address attached to the child’s birth certificate for confirmation by June 15. A random drawing to pick the winner will be held around June 22.

In a separate promotion, Chrysler is out with a sweepstakes to celebrate Mother’s Day and Memorial Day.

The Our Troops Are Calling on You promo is an effort to help military personnel stay in touch with family members, Chrysler said.

This month, people who visit participating Chrysler Jeep or Dodge dealerships can enter. The sweeps is being held in the five markets where the largest U.S. military installations are located: Atlanta, Los Angeles, Oahu, Hawaii, San Diego, CA, San Antonio, TX and Norfolk, VA.

One winner will be chosen from each market and can pick among a Chrysler Sebring Sedan, Jeep Patriot or Dodge Ram 1500 as a prize.

Based on the number of entries, Chrysler plans to donate up to $50,000 to the USO’s Operation Phone Home program, which distributes free prepaid international and domestic phone cards to active duty military personnel.
