Brokers Break Bread

American List Counsel Inc.’s executive vice president Fran Green and president Donn Rappaport welcomed more than 100 brokers in May to the firm’s second annual “For Brokers Only” luncheon at the 200 Club Toy Building in Manhattan.

“We recognize that the brokers are very instrumental in the success of managed list sales,” Green says, noting that 90% of the orders processed come through brokers. “The luncheon is one of the ways that we like to show our appreciation for the hard work that the brokers do on behalf of our lists.”

Deb Goldstein, president of IDG List Services, Framingham, MA, praised the event. “It celebrates the partnership between brokers and managers and I don’t think we do that enough. The luncheon creates a really strong message to cooperate and communicate and to continue to always work together for the benefit of our clients.”

The afternoon featured Atlantic Monthly senior editor Corby Kummer, who offered an entertaining guide to convention city dining and a spring fashion show. We just question the timing of the latter: Right before dessert isn’t the best time to stage a parade of rail-thin models.
