White is the New (Coca-Cola) Red

whitecan.jpgCoca-Cola is a marketing marvel, arguably one of the best, ever evolving its creative messaging and continually changing it up just enough to keep consumers excited about what the brand will come up with next.

This time, and for the first time, it has turned its iconic red cans white as part of a cause-marketing promotion to help conservation efforts for polar bears Arctic home.

The white cans still carry the iconic Coca-Cola script printed in red but also show a mother bear and her two cubs making their way through an all-white panorama. The goal is to donate portions of the sales to the World Wildlife Fund up to $3 million.

People can make donations by texting a package code to 357357 to donate $1 to WWF or donate online at ArcticHome.com, starting Nov. 1. Coca-Cola will match all donations made with a code by March 15, 2012, up to a total of $1 million, in addition to its initial $2 million donation. At the site, people will find Coke’s
