The Big Chill
Christmas came early for some merchants in the form of
wintery weather throughout much of the country.
States such as Minnesota, Ohio and New York saw more than a foot of snow in the past few days, while record low temperatures were reported from Virginia to Florida yesterday and freezing rain was expected to fall on Kentucky and Tennessee and nearby states today.
While not fun to travel in, winter’s early arrival is typically great for retailers, since it increases demand for cold-weather apparel and gear. It
