McCann Brother Going Undercover
1-800-Flowers president Chris McCann stars in the season finale of CBS-TV’s Undercover Boss this Sunday. All I can make out from this trailer is that he may not be cut out for arranging, and that he seemed to look all too familiar (even with the beard!). Maybe his brother, CEO/chairman Jim McCann, could have slipped through the cracks a little easier?
Sadly I missed the 1-800-Flowers press release earlier this week about the appearance. I found out about it this morning when I got my daily 1-800-Flowers e-mail blast (one which I delete without opening every day… except of course for today). It’s an e-mail from the McCann brothers, talking about the old “coffee pot” days, when they’d put on a pot of coffee and have some of mom’s apple pie and brainstorm.
It sounds to me like the McCann brothers realized they lost their way before 1-800-Flowers went undercover. Just take a look at these 2009 Mulrichannel Merchant headlines:
