Marketing1by1 President and CEO Keith Wardell Dies

Keith Wardell, a long-time marketing executive and author of
Marketing Out Of Control,
died on Sept. 15. Wardell, who was the keynote speaker at ACCM in 2007, was 60.

NEMOA vice president Cindy Marshall announced Wardell’s passing Wednesday after a session at the NEMOA Fall Conference in Qunicy, MA, and asked for a moment of silence in Wardell’s honor. Marshall told attendees she considered Wardell to be “a mentor.”

According to his bio on the Marketing1by1 website, Wardell founded three marketing companies and worked for several marketing leaders including R.L Polk & Company, Equifax and National Decision Systems. Wardell’s clients have included Toyota Motor Company/Lexus Division, Merrill Lynch, Federated Department Stores, 1-800flowers.com, Bell South, Omaha Steaks and Procter & Gamble.
