Marketing “Buzz” Stings Hot Ad Agency
CP&B, the hottest ad agency around is laying off 7% of its staff. While I am not happy to read the news, I do feel it’s about time. After all, CP&B is all about buzz. I think advertising and marketing should be about the biz — the business the work brings in that is. As you may recall, Nike recently dumped CP&B and their work for Burger King, Microsoft, Domino’s (are they still in business?) Coke, VW and others is, from my perch, ineffective. You have to measure your marketing today, now more than ever. Work that produced results may have avoided the pink slips.
