Headsets.com Launching Headphones.com

Headsets.com CEO Mike Faith will be speaking this morning at the
MeritDirect co-op about managing your business during hard times. Last night at the cocktail reception, Faith gave me a hint about how his company is getting by.

Its expanding into the business-to-consumer world. Faith said it will officially launch Headphones.com next week.

Remember the strategy of buying up domain names back in the day? Well, it worked for Faith. As the recession cased businesses to cut back on spending, Faith’s company tinkered with a few of the domains to see if there was an avenue Headsets.com could expand to.

Obviously, headphones for the consumer market is a natural fit. You’re dealing with many of the same vendors, you just need to reach a different customer. And – not to shamefully plug MeritDirect (though I’m sure Ralph Drybrough won’t mind) – MeritDirect can help Faith get the B-to-C names he needs to prospect to.
