Happy Birthday E-Mail From the NFL
Today is my niece’s 26th birthday. I doubt she cares about the NFL. But the league sent me a “Happy Birthday” e-mail offer of 15% off this morning.
My birthday was in April. The NFL got the ballpark timing of my birthday correct, springtime. But that’s about it.
The image of a custom jersey with my name on the back should entice me to want to buy. But I’m from the old-school that the jersey you buy should be of an actual player. Putting your own last name on the back of a jersey is, well, kind of dorky (yet if someone was to order this “Parry, 1” jersey in 0-3 months for my on-the-way son, I’ll gladly accept it).
I also think that once a man reaches middle-age, he’s too old to wear a football jersey unless he’s actually playing the game or at the game. Watching the game from the couch? Acceptable, but not really.
And really, NFL. Just because I have a niece who was born on August 2, and I always forget until mid August when I finally get around to switching the calendar doesn’t make it okay to miss MY birthday!
At least the NFL got my team preference, the New York Giants, right.
