Email Round-Up: It’s Summer, It’s Hot, Feed Me!

bruggers.jpgIt’s July, and it’s really, really hot outside.

Yeah, yeah, I know this isn’t exactly a newsflash to anyone. But I feel like someone should tap some of the major restaurant chains on the shoulder and remind them that when it is hot out, people don’t like to cook. And when they don’t want to cook, they want to get takeout, making it the perfect time for email offers for dinner specials and discounts.

My inbox has been starving for such offers. I typically love to cook, but since we don’t have air conditioning at home, I’m loathe to fire up the stove when temps shoot past 85-90 degrees. Luckily, my husband is very skilled in the art of take-out-food-pickuppery (it’s one of the reasons I married him).

Are we trying new or different options, outside of the usual repertoire of local joints we frequent? Not really, but the right offer would definitely tempt us. Sadly, at the rate things are going, it seems more likely to arrive via owl rather than email.
