Baseball’s Marketing Error

By now a lot of people have heard that Major League Baseball forbade members of the New York Mets from wearing caps honoring the first responders to the Sept. 11, 2011 attacks on the event’s 10th anniversary. The league officially banned team members from wearing anything but official team caps.

There were also accusations that MLB used some strong-arm tactics to enforce this ban even to players in the dugout and not on the field itself.

Reportedly, this decision to ban the first responder caps was made on contractual grounds with the marketer of the caps, which, by the way, are also available for sale on the Mets
