Bad Times For Brand Names

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

It seems that even mega brands are stalling in this economy. This MSN article talks about how consumers are opting for the off brands of consumer staples like Coke and Oreo’s to save and pinch pennies. This means, essentially, that even big brands need to sell value today.

I’m proof that value will work. The jeans I have on today are Wrangler. I bought them at Target, off the discount rack. How much? $3.97. They fit great, are a tad long, but for under $4 bucks, I got a steal. Yep, and as the article states, cheap is chic, so I must be very chic!
