Avon takes its Show on the Road

Avon, in partnership with Q-Tips, hit the road last month with a custom-built trailer that transforms into a beauty salon to showcase its wares and support breast cancer.

The second annual 2003 Avon Let’s Talk Beauty Tour, travels for six months across the U.S. offering women complimentary makeovers, mini-manicures and self-samplings via a 53-foot expandable trailer that includes seven makeover stations.

To collect donations for its Avon Breast Cancer Crusade, which contributes money to breast cancer research and medical treatment, attendees pay $1 to kiss a seal that is added to a collage of the kisses that travel with the show. Also at the Avon Kiss Collage station, a sweepstakes is promoted, sending one winner and a guest on a five-night Jamaica getaway to the Negril Grand Lido Resort and Spa. Twenty-five finalists receive a gift basket filled with Avon products worth $250.
