Alcone Wins Q-Tips Account

Unilever has named Alcone Marketing Group its promotion agency of record for Q-Tips Cotton Swabs.

Alcone will handle promotion planning and implementation, managing the business out of its Darien, CT office.

Englewood Cliffs, NJ-based Unilever was impressed with Alcone’s “ability to draw insights from a truly dimensional understanding of the consumer target, and then apply this knowledge in the creation of effective consumer activation programs,” said Unilever Senior Integrated Marketing Manager Gail Grosso in a statement.

Alcone will develop a strategy that leverages Q-Tips’ “ultimate beauty tool” positioning.

“Q-Tips is such a universally recognized … brand with so much versatility,” said Alcone SVP-Group Account Director Anne Sullivan in a statement.

Alcone ranked No. 26 in the 2005 PROMO 100 with estimated 2004 net revenues of $39.5 million, up an estimated 25% from 2002.
