Adult Swim, Burger King Team for Sweeps

Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim is partnering with Burger King Corp. to launch a new sweepstakes that dangles a grand prize to program an entire night of shows on Adult Swim.

To enter the Have It Your Way sweepstakes, consumers phone in during featured calling dates (March 5 and March 12). The sweepstakes kicks off Feb. 27 and runs through March 12. Adult Swim will air co-branded tune-in spots driving consumers to the designated viewing dates between Feb. 27 and March 6.

The top winner will have the chance to pick programs for a seven-hour slot of Adult Swim (11 p.m. to 6 a.m.). In addition, the winner can choose from one of two grand prizesa viewing party at the winner’s home or a trip for two to Atlanta for a personal tour of the Williams Street studios, the production home for Adult Swim.

In the second quarter, Adult Swim will air programming selected by the winner in a one-night special. Burger King will sponsor the special and receive tagged tune-in spots leading up to the event.

The promotion is the second between Adult Swim and Burger King. Last year, one grand-prize winner received a viewing party with 20 friends. Secondary prizes will be announced at a later date.

Adult Swim, which launched in 2001 on Cartoon Network, gives adults a destination for late-night cartoonstypically males 18 to 34, a difficult demographic to drive to TV shows. The shows air Sunday through Thursdays from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Adult Swim was No. 1 in delivery of adults 18 to 34 and men 18 to 34 for 33 weeks out of 38 weeks and ranked fifth in delivery for adults 18 to 49, according to Cartoon Network.
