YouTube Ranks Videos According to Time Spent Watching, Not Clicks

YouTubeYouTube is changing the way it ranks its results when users search for videos. The online video site has adjusted the ranking of videos to reward engaging videos that keep viewers’ eyes on the screen. “We expect the amount of time viewers spend watching videos from search and across the site to increase,” YouTube noted in a blog post announcing the change. On Thursday, “Time Watched” was added as a new report in YouTube Analytics. (The Next Web, TechCrunch)
