New York City-based mybasics.com, an online health and beauty care shopping service, reached a marketing agreement with Palo Alto, CA-based Web portal Yahoo.

Yahoo and mybasics.com will develop promotions leveraging the portal’s entire 50 million-strong user base, but especially targeting mybasics.com core customer group of women 25 to 49 with families, said mybasics.com vp-marketing Ashley Hyland.

Under the heading, Never Run Out, mybasics will run customized banner advertising in a variety of areas, sponsoring chat events and Yahoo club sites. A mybasics.com sweepstakes offering a weekend vacation for four to Sesame Place will receive front-page promotion on Yahoo.com. Four runner-up winners get a year’s supply of diapers delivered to their homes.

Mybasics.com launched in October 1998 with over 7,000 leading health and beauty brands. Registered consumers can sign up to receive automatic monthly orders, with e-mail confirmations delivered prior to shipments.
