Xerox Corp. will acquire XMPie for $54 million. The all-cash purchase is expected to close in the next 30 days. XMPie will maintain its brand name and function as a standalone software unit. Xerox had been XMPie’s largest reseller.
Jacob Aizikowitz, who founded XMPie and serves as its chairman and chief technology officer, will head the unit and report to Ursula M. Burns, president of Xerox Business Group Operations. XMPie will keep the company’s headquarters in New York and its research and development facility in Netanya, Israel. The majority of XMPie’s 60 employees are expected to join Xerox.
XMPie provides variable information software for personalized marketing programs that incorporate digitally printed direct mail, the Web, e-mail and other channels through its signature image personalization product, uImage.
