Wise Finds Success with Modell’s

Wise Foods has partnered with Modell’s Sporting Goods for a second time after finding success with a sweepstakes last year.

This year the campaign introduces a new brand, Bravos Tortilla Chips. The sweeps appears on 1.2 million packages of Ranch, Nacho Cheese and Sweet Pepper Wise Bravos Tortilla Chops, as well as Wise Honey BBQ Potato Chips, All Natural Potato Chips, and Crunchy Cheese Doodles. A 10% coupon good for any purchase at participating Modell’s is offered on the back of the packages.

Players can enter at Wisesnacks.com through Oct. 1. The grand prize is a three-night vacation for four to Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach Resort in the Bahamas. Wise is also partnering with Grand Bahama Island for the second time. Thirty first-prize winners receive $50 gift cards to Modell’s Sporting Goods stores.

“If we can get a 2% to 3% increase in sales of [Wise products], that would be a tremendous boost for us,” said Eric Friedberg, president of Cohen-Friedberg Associates, which administers the sweeps.

As a result of last year’s sweeps, more than $40,000 in coupons were redeemed at Modell’s, Friedberg said.

“This showed us that people were buying Wise products and using their coupons at Modell’s,” he said.

In addition to the ads on packaging, the Sun, Fun & Savings sweeps is being promoted on radio spots.

Although Sun, Fun & Savings closely mirrors the program launched last year, it includes several additions: a complete translation of the promotional Web site into Spanish and a second sweeps for the Wise sales force that also offers a trip to the Bahamas.
