Whole Foods Adds Videos/Recipes to its New Site

In an effort to build a stronger relationship with its customers, Whole Foods Market last week rolled out a new Web site.

The site features recipes, cooking demonstration videos and a blog. People can also store their favorite recipes in a personalized “recipe box” on the site.

The site at www.wholefoodsmarket.com also offers information about local food producers and a “store art gallery,” which features the chalkboard artwork that appears in every Whole Foods Market store. Shoppers can also join online discussion forums.

“We’ve taken our passion for food and customer service and brought it online,” Bill Tolany, global coordinator of integrated media for Whole Foods Market, said in a statement. “Our stores have long been community gathering places, and now we are extending that community even further.”

Also available are features on vendors, in-store brochures with recipes and the entries from its blog, “The Whole Story.” Web pages for local store detail events and store specials.

Whole Foods is also using sites such as Facebook and Twitter to further grow its customer base.

“We’re really having fun using these social tools to connect our customers to our Team Members and mission,” Tolany said.
