Retailer Dillard’s Inc. has alerted the U.S. Postal Service and the national media that advertisements in its Christmas catalog contain white talcum powder.
A small number of the advertisements leaked the powder during printing, and it may be visible as the catalogs pass through mail facilities or when delivered to consumers’ homes. With the anthrax scare at full pitch, the presence of white powder on mail can be an alarming sight.
