Walmart is bringing back its yellow smiley face image to signal its low-price marketing amid increasingly tough price competition from the likes of Amazon.com and others.
Smiley is making a return to advertising and marketing after a 10-year hiatus. The announcement was made at a U.S. employee’s meeting to ensure everyone is on board.
Walmart CMO Tony Rogers said in a Walmart blog post,“You’ve heard us talk a lot recently about the importance of leading on price. Low prices have always been our key differentiator and we have an unwavering commitment to providing our customers with low prices every day.
