Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

The Association of Volleyball Professionals last week announced that McDonald’s, Gillette, Wrigley’s and Nature Valley have signed on as tour sponsors for the 2003 season.

As a part of the sponsorship package, Oak Brook, IL-based McDonald’s gets stadium signage, advertising on both the NBC and cable broadcasts, billboards and the right to use all the marks and logos of the tour in marketing activity.

Boston-based Gillette’s Soft & Dri and Right Guard Xtreme become the official deodorants of the AVP and will run commercials during broadcasts. Gillette, Chicago-based Wrigley’s Extra and Minneapolis-based General Mills’ Nature Valley will also receive on-site signage and sampling rights.

The companies join title sponsor Nissan, as well as Bud Light, Aquafina, Microsoft X-Box, Gatorade, ChapStick, Paul Mitchell Systems and Wilson.
