Television home shopping network ValueVision International Inc., Minneapolis, has named Stuart Goldfarb to the new position of vice chairman.
Goldfarb, executive vice-president and managing director of NBC’s worldwide business development division, will be responsible for pursuing new electronic commerce projects in addition to programming and investments. He will also manage the company’s alliance with NBC and GE Equity, which together own 39.9% of ValueVision. Goldfarb will remain with NBC through a transitional period before formally joining ValueVision.
