USPS Overhauls Its Data Transmission Network

The U.S. Postal Service plans to upgrade the data transmission network that supports its automation and Intelligent Mail programs.

The USPS said yesterday that it will replace the wiring at 108 large postal facilities with high-speed wiring within the next 15 months. It has upgraded 62 plants over the past year.

This improvement will enable the USPS to speed up delivery of information about mail as it travels through the system
