USPS Net Income Up for Year-to-Date

The U.S. Postal service reported net income of $1.71 billion for its fiscal year-to-date ended June 30, $1.19 billion more than it had planned. The USPS reported revenue of $52.9 billion, $1.1 billion more than planned. For the period ended June 30, standard mail volume was 24.1 billion pieces, up 4.6% over 23.1 billion last year. For the year-to-date ended June 30, volume was 75.4 billion pieces, up 6.1% over 71.1 billion pieces last year. For the period ended June 30, first class mail volume was 23.6 billion pieces, up 0.2% over 23.5 billion pieces last year. For the year-to-date ended June 30, volume was 74.7 billion pieces, up 0.4% over 74.4 billion pieces last year.
