Urban Outfitters DM Sales Rise 30%

Urban Outfitters Inc. posted net income of $29.4 million for the first quarter, a 45% increase over net income of $20.3 million in the prior-year.

The cataloger and retailer reported sales of $314.5 million for the quarter ended April 30, a 16% gain over sales of $270 million last year.

The Philadelphia firm posted direct marketing sales of $43.5 million for the quarter, a 30% increase over direct sales of $33.5 million in the prior-year.
