U.K. gift card supplier Giftex, Inc. has launched a research service for European marketers eager to catch up to the popularity of gift cards in the U.S.
GIFT Network (which stands for “Gifting Insights & Future Trends”) subscribers get access to monthly research on gift card use and best practices, and a conference call with Giftex researchers to discuss each monthly report. Topics include legal issues, analyst opinions, global gift card use, and retail program reviews, primarily in Europe, according to U.K. newsletter The Wise Marketer.
Giftex offers three levels of membership: the first, which is free, gets members a monthly e-newsletter outlining key findings in the monthly research (but not access to the research reports themselves). The second, at GBP 2,000 per month, gets members the full monthly report and conference call. The third, for Preferred Partners, gets members one day of consulting per month with Prof. Dan Horne (who wrote European Guide to Gift and Stored Value Cards) or other execs, as well as ideas and contacts to improve gift card programs.
The London-based company published a separate study (based on interviews with 100 European retailers) in September to showcase best practices and future trends.
“Gift cards play a big role in retailing across the pond. But for many retailers in Europe, gift cards remain low on the priority list,” said Giftex CEO Tony Craddock in a statement “This report will help retailers to decide whether to invest in gift cards programs, and how to do so for maximum return on their investment.”
