Twitter Has New Keyword Targeting Options for Promoted Tweets, Bulk Import Tool, More

Posted on

TwitterMarketers now have three new keyword matching options when they use Twitter’s Promoted Tweets: exact match, phrase match and keyword match. Twitter is also enabling marketers to use negative keywords so they can limit their Promoted Tweets from displaying when users search for certain terms. The company has also rolled out a bulk import tool, which accepts exported keyword lists from other search advertising platforms or cut-and-paste from a document. On top of all this, Twitter is unveiling an option to automatically match Promoted Tweets in search to relevant and related trending topics. “If you use this new matching option (which is enabled by default for new campaigns), we use relevance signals about your Promoted Tweets and the Trend itself to help increase your campaign’s coverage automatically. For example, if a celebrity’s pregnancy news starts trending, and you’re a retailer of baby clothing, your Promoted Tweet may be entered into the auction for that trending search.” (Twitter Advertising Blog)
