Twentieth Century Fox Expands Family Guy Licensing

Twentieth Century Fox has expanded its licensing and merchandising of the TV animated series Family Guy through two new agreements with Take-Two Interactive Software, a video game producer, and Airborne Entertainment program, a wireless content provider.

Under the agreement, Take-Two secured the rights to produce a new video game for multiple platforms under the 2K Games label. The Family Guy video game, which is being developed, will let players take on the role of the series’ characters, Stewie, Brian the Dog, and Peter, as they interact with citizens of Quahog. The video game is scheduled to be released in 2006.

As part of a separate deal, Airborne Entertainment will introduce new mobile phone content featuring the animated family. Fans can download wallpaper, wireless games, applications and animated ringers to their mobile phones. The Family Guy wireless phone content will be available this spring.

In addition, Airborne Entertainment will release additional Family Guy products during the year and will reflect themes and events from specific episodes.

Family Guy debuted in 1999 after the Super Bowl. The series returns to Fox on May 1.
