About a year ago in this space, I lamented the fact that people were spending too much money trying to get my attention, but not necessarily in a good way.
Twelve months later, it seems little has changed. Now don’t get me wrong: Considering that the members of my household usually get my attention by (a) screaming or howling, (b) coughing up a hairball or demonstrating another equally lovely bodily function, or (c) informing me I now have to help attend to (a) or (b), anyone who goes the extra mile to catch my eye is OK in my book.
But still, that extra mile has to be relevant. Otherwise, it’s just running around in circles.
Bloomingdale’s dropped a catalog in my mailbox shortly before Christmas that got my attention
