Survey Points to an Uptick in Mergers and Acquisitions

Merger and acquisition activity for Internet marketing, database marketing and customer relationship management firms is expected to increase this year, according to the 12th annual AdMedia Partners investment bank survey.

Among those who identify themselves as prospective buyers 54% expect to complete an acquisition in 2006, up from 51% who though they would do so last year.

Forty-two percent of those who identify themselves as prospective sellers expected to sell all or part of their businesses in 2006, compared to 25% who thought they would in 2005.

Some 69% of those surveyed said they were considering entering or expanding their presence in Internet marketing this year, up from 64% who said that last year.
