Staples Inc., the office products direct marketer and retailer, plans to purchase the U.K. office products company Globus Office World plc for 32.5 million pounds ($58.9 million). Based outside of London, Globus operates 59 stores.
“The office products market in the United Kingdom has tremendous opportunities for growth,” said Theo Van Brandenburg, president, Staples European retail in a statement.
The U.K. Office of Fair Trade will review the transaction.
