Sports marketing veteran Michael A. Neuman has formed a new marketing agency, Amplify Sports & Entertainment, LLC, in New York City.
Amplify Sports & Entertainment will focus on developing strategic sponsorships and alliances, and on maximizing the impact of celebrity-and athlete-driven marketing campaigns.
In his most recent role, Neuman worked as senior VP-group account director for Strategic (formerly Strategic Sports Group) where he was responsible for the company’s flagship account, InBev USA. Neuman’s work on InBev was recognized with the Bill Veeck Sports Sponsorship Award for concepting and activating Rolling Rock’s sponsorship of the Pittsburgh Steelers and their commemorative can promotion honoring retired broadcaster Myron Cope.
Prior to Strategic, Neuman opened and led the New York City office for Paragon Marketing Group, where he spearheaded their work as a strategic sports marketing agency to the pharmaceutical and other industries. Paragon worked as sports marketing agency on Pfizer’s depression awareness campaign, Minds in Motion, for Zoloft. Paragon was also retained to help Pfizer leverage its 2002 Olympic Games sponsorship in Salt Lake City.
Neuman was also VP-sports marketing and strategic alliances for Arnold Communications for the New York Metro McDonald’s co-op. In that capacity he was responsible for leveraging McDonald’s sports, athlete and entertainment partnerships. Neuman also spent seven years managing Hoop-It-Up, the NBA’s Official 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, in several markets while serving as VP of Global Television Sports, Inc., a Philadelphia-based TV sports production and event management firm.
