The Spiegel Group announced the location of 29 Eddie Bauer stores it intends to close this year, as part of efforts to improve store productivity related to its bankruptcy protection filing.
The list includes 25 apparel stores and four outlet stores, located throughout the U.S.
Store-closing sales are expected to begin on or about Jan. 9. The stores will remain open for business, on a store-by-store basis, until the related store-closing inventory sales are completed.
Spiegel, Downers Grove, IL, which also owns the Eddie Bauer, Newport News, and Spiegel catalogs, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on March 17 (Direct Newsline, Nov. 20, 2003).
