Sony Pictures Entertainment has tapped George Leon to head up a new office in London. Leon, a 2003 PROMO Marketer of the Year (January 2003 PROMO) was promoted from senior to executive VP-worldwide promotions and product placement.

He will still report to Geoffrey Ammer, president of worldwide marketing for the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group, and oversee activities of the new office as the studio expands its promotional efforts in Europe. Leon will continue to work out of Sony’s Culver City, CA, offices.
Leon joined Sony in 2000 and has developed campaigns supporting Spider-Man, Men in Black II, Stuart Little 2 and XXX.
