Small Business Group Leads InfoUSA Revenue Growth

InfoUSA’s Small Business Group saw its revenue jump from $25.9 million in third quarter 2001 to $37.2 million in third quarter 2002. Largely due to the division’s strength, the data products and services firm generated net sales of $77.2 million, up from $68.5 million a year ago.

During the same period, the Omaha, NE-based firm saw its net income rise from $234,000 to $6.4 million. The quarter ended Sept. 30.

InfoUSA’s Large Customer Group, which includes Walter Karl and Donnelley Marketing, reported sales of $26.7 million, down slightly from $27.3 million in third quarter 2001. According to the company, the softness in sales was offset by an increase in profitability within the division, although it did not break out operating profit for the division.

The Database License group, which had a greater reliance on dot com companies than the other two, saw its sales drop from $11.6 million a year ago to $9.4 million.
