With the 2004 U.S. presidential election looming, Showtime Networks has teamed up with Yahoo HotJobs to find potential candidates to fill the Oval Office on its new reality series, American Candidate.
Yahoo’s job seeking tool, HotJobs will be integrated into at least two episodes that begin airing this summer. The show features a hunt for the new “Leader of the Free World.” Potential candidates may highlight their presidential qualifications and skills by applying for one of the 12 open positions on the show through www.hotjobs.com, which will direct them to the official series site.
“As the show unfolds either late July or early August, there will be several episodes that will feature product integration for HotJobs,” said Geof Rochester, senior VP-marketing for Showtime.
To promote the presidential reality series, Showtime will run on-air spots, leading interested individuals to the HotJobs site. In addition, HotJobs will create and run online promotions including placements on the HotJobs and Yahoo homepages, banner ads and linkages off the Yahoo homepage as a call to action to get visitors to tune-in. Fans of the show can also track their favorite candidate on www.americancandidate.com.
American Candidate will showcase the chosen candidates during the 10-episode, one-hour reality series.
