Computer direct marketer PC Connection Inc., Merrimack, NH, reported that net sales for the first quarter ended March 31, 1999 were $224.8 million, compared with net sales of $168.6 million for the corresponding prior year period, representing an increase of 33%. Outbound sales accounted for $128.8 million, Internet sales for $12.2 million. Full first-quarter results are expected to be released the week of April 26, 1999.
InfoUSA Inc., Omaha, NE, said online database sales from InfoUSA.com, the company’s Internet marketing division, reached over $640,000 in the first quarter of 1999, more than doubling the revenue from the same period last year. InfoUSA.com offers a database of 10 million businesses and 195 million consumers over the Internet.
R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co., Chicago, has completed its acquisition of Newark, OH-based Communicolor, a direct mail marketing group of Standard Register, Dayton, OH. Terms of the transaction, announced in February, were not disclosed. Communicolor will operate as part of RRD Direct, R.R. Donnelley’s direct mail business.
