Basil L. Anderson has been named vice chairman of Staples Inc., Framingham, MA. He will oversee the company’s strategic, business development and financial initiatives. Anderson, the former CFO and treasurer of the Campbell Soup Co., has served on the Staples board of directors since 1997. He is chair of the audit committee.
List Technology Systems Group , New York, has named Paul Zelin and Gwendolyn Giordano as senior account managers in the company’s list management services division. Zelin comes to LTSG from American List Counsel where he worked as an assistant director of the eManagement division and as an account manager working on consumer publishing and business to business lists. Giordano worked most recently for Thomson Healthcare’s Medical Economics Co. as a telesales manager and as a senior account executive with the former Medec Business Direct.
ADVO and the Orange County Register have formed a partnership to offer Southern California clients a weekend advertising program, which combines targeted direct mail and newspaper distribution. Set to begin in January 2002, the program will reach 900,000 households.
