Larry Kaplan, CEO of TeleBusinessUSA, Northbrook, IL received the Direct Marketing Association’s 2004 Teleservices Excellence award Thursday during a ceremony at the annual DMA Teleservices Conference in Palm Beach, FL.

Online people connection service Friendster has named former NBC Entertainment president Scott Sassa as CEO. Before NBC, he spent nine years at Turner Broadcasting System in various executive roles. Jonathan Abrams, founder of Friendster, will remain company chairman.

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. has nominated four new board members for election at the company’s annual meeting on June 21: Rick Boyko, managing director of the Virginia Commonwealth University Adcenter and former co-president and CCO of Ogilvy & Mather; Michael Goldstein, former chairman and CEO of Toys “R” Us; Susan Lyne, former president of ABC Entertainment; and Wenda Harris Millard, chief sales officer of Yahoo Inc.
