Google Pushes Back AOL Deal Google says it has moved the expected completion date of its $1 billion investment for 5% of AOL to second-quarter 2006. The deal, announced in December, was anticipated by the end of March, but an SEC filing Thursday indicated the two companies would need more time to work out the details of their relationship. According to Google’s 2005 annual report, AOL generated 9% of the company’s ad revenue last year, or $550 million.
Think Partnership Delays Litmus Acquisition Northbrook IL-based interactive marketing agency has extended the date of its merger with Web services provider Litmus Media to April 5. Think also announced it was terminating its intention to purchase Crystal Reference Systems, a British search technology provider. Crystal has instead been acquired by ad pepper media, a London-based provider of interactive marketing and direct marketing solutions.
InfoUSA Adds Business UCC Filings Business and consumer database marketer infoUSA will begin compiling a database of business uniform commercial code (UCC) filings for integration into its data products, including business profiles, list selection, list append and reference products. UCC filings are done by banks, leasing companies and others to establish title to property used as collateral. And typically include names and addresses of debtor and secured party, filing date and number, and collateral pledged. The company will first add UCC codes to its Credit.net line of business and consumer credit reports.
Print Council Names Executive Committee Co-Chairman Jerry Williamson, chairman and CEO of Dallas-based Williamson Printing, has been appointed co-chair of the executive committee for The Print Council, an awareness and market development organization for the printing industry. Williamson joins Heidelberg USA president James Dunn in the group’s chairmanship.
