Fulfillment outsourcer Shipwire, Inc. is expected to announce today the opening of a new facility in Toronto, Canada.
According to the company, the problems for U.S. merchandisers selling in Canada are the shipping costs and risk of clearing customers on a per-order basis.
Shipwire’s Canadian expansion allows Web retailers to easily move and store wholesale and retail inventory within Canada, the company said in a statement. The result is faster delivery to buyers in Canada with lower shipping charges, the company said.
To promote the opening of its Toronto facility, Shipwire is offering new customers a free month of storage, the company added.
Existing Shipwire customers can get account credits, which vary depending on whether a container or parcel is scheduled for receiving, Shipwire said.
