Services and Information Tech Lead to Strong Acxiom Quarter

Acxiom Corp., Conway, AR, had first-quarter revenue of $211.5 million, up 29% from $164.5 million from first-quarter 1998. Net earnings were $15.7 million, an increase of 34% from $11.7 million. The quarter ended June 30.

Much of Acxiom’s growth came from its “Services” and “Information Technology” segments, which were up 38% and 30%, to $130.1 million and $45.3 million, respectively. Its Data Products segment, with first-quarter revenue of $47.9 million, increased by 11%.

The company also announced several partnerships during the quarter, including one with Dun & Bradstreet which will expand both companies’ distribution channels, another with Abacus Direct Corp., which entered into a multi-year strategic product development and distribution agreement with Acxiom, and a third with Web-based analytic application developer E.piphany.
