SEM Firm Catalyst On-line Acquired by WPP Unit

Grey Healthcare Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of global ad conglomerate WPP, has agreed to acquire Boston-based Catalyst On-line, a digital marketing firm specializing in search marketing.

Catalyst provides both search engine optimization and pay-per-click marketing services, primarily with companies in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. Current Catalyst clients include Biogen Idec, Novartis and Pfizer.

Catalyst founders Heather Frahm and Beth LeTendre will continue to lead the company after its acquisition by Grey.

Grey Healthcare Group is a global communications network of 42 companies in 21 countries. GHG provides integrated sales and advertising services including CME, online and offline medical content, direct-to-consumer and direct-to-physician communications, e-marketing and contract sales.
