Sears Holdings Corp. has named Richard Gerstein as chief marketing officer for its Sears, Roebuck and Co. subsidiary. The post goes into effect Aug. 6.
Gerstein will be responsible for executing Sears’ brand marketing strategies and programs, and will report to Maureen McGuire, Sears Holdings’ chief marketing officer.
He replaces Joan Chow, who left the post after 18 months on the job (Promo Xtra, Jan. 18, 2007).
Gerstein joins Sears from Alberto Culver Beauty, where he worked as global chief marketing officer and senior vice president of the U.S. business. During that time, he created new marketing initiatives to boost brand growth and launched new brands into mass retail outlets.
He also held top leadership and marketing positions at Reflect True Custom Beauty, a Procter & Gamble spin-off and at P&G.
