Safeway has hired Joseph Ennen as senior vice president consumer brands.
He will oversee the company’s corporate brands organization, including its marketing, finance and outside sales function.
Most recently, Ennen worked for four years at the Frito-Lay Division of PepsiCo, first as vice president of core brands where he managed the Doritos, Tostitos and Cheetos lines, and most recently as group vice president of innovation. In that capacity, he was responsible for leading the entire innovation development cycle for Frito Lay North America from identifying strategic opportunities to product launch.
He has also worked for the Kellogg Co., Con Agra Foods and General Mills.
